How much clearance do I need below the anchor?

For a 6 ft shock-absorbing lanyard with the anchor at D-ring level, roughly 18.5 ft. That is 6 ft of free fall plus 3.5 ft of deceleration distance, both capped by OSHA 1926.502(d)(16)(iii), plus harness stretch, the height of the suspended worker, and a safety margin. The last three are Stampede planning figures, not published values. Move the anchor overhead and the required clearance drops.

Why does the tool refuse to recommend anything when clearance is short?

Because the honest answer is a self-retracting lifeline or an overhead anchor, and selecting one against a computed clearance is the competent person’s call, not a distributor’s. Recommending a 6 ft lanyard for a configuration it cannot arrest would be worse than saying nothing. Does this size dust extraction for concrete cutting?

A respirator by itself does not satisfy 1926.1153 or 1910.134.

Which ladder standard applies to your ladders?

ANSI A14.5, which governs portable reinforced-plastic ladders. Every ladder Stampede stocks is fiberglass. The metal-ladder standard does not apply here. Sizing also follows OSHA 1926.1053: no standing on a stepladder top cap or top step, a 4:1 pitch for extension ladders, and rails at least 3 ft above the landing.
