Why does this tool ask about SDS properties instead of the chemical name?

Because selecting protection from a chemical name is a hazard assessment, and under OSHA 1910.120 that is trained work performed by the responding organization, not by a distributor. This tool matches stocked product to the hazard properties you read off your SDS. The release-type presets are a starting point that fill those properties for you, and every one of them stays editable.

Why will the tool not size anything for an unknown atmosphere?

Because an IDLH or uncharacterized atmosphere requires a self-contained breathing apparatus or supplied air, and no cartridge respirator substitutes for that. Stampede stocks neither, so there is no honest recommendation to make. The tool stops and refers out rather than handing you an ensemble that could get someone killed.

Do you stock sorbent booms, socks, and pads?

No. Stampede stocks loose granular cellulose absorbent, and does not carry the oil-only versus universal grade distinction, sorbent booms, socks, pads, overpack drums, drum liners, or containment berms. The tool says so plainly rather than sizing product we cannot ship. Call and a rep will point you at a source for the sorbent line.

Why does a flammable release only get one vacuum option?

Because every other HEPA vacuum we stock is an electric unit and an ignition source in a flammable atmosphere, and all of them are dry-only besides. The pneumatic spark-free unit is the only acceptable choice, and it is a call item. If it is unavailable the answer is non-sparking hand recovery or a contractor with rated equipment, never an electric substitute.
